HALIT ERGENC AND OKAN YALABIK INTERVIEW

Last season, the most-talked "Magnificent Century" ... Suleiman, Ibrahim, Hurrem came into our homes with the bloodiest pages of our history. The two important stars of the series Halit Ergenc and Okan Yalabik at an "unprecedented" meeting, first time for this interview.

Halit: Actually we played together in the late '90s in the series "Zeimpekis Ateşi». Okan was always for me a dear person. We still try to arrange a meeting, but due to work commitments we have not found time.

When I find you in shooting, women was talkin about fashion. What do you usually discuss?

Okan: Required talking about the history of the Ottoman Empire. We share other things that we find on the internet or elsewhere.

What is the attitude of people towards Suleiman and Ibrahim?

Halit: There is a screen, we are behind this screen and people behave as if they do not listen. For example, when I meet they talk to me very loud like to see me on TV. It is next to me and shout: "Look to Suleiman." After they see me, they go. (Laughter)

What do we expect this season?

Halit: We continue from where we finished. Then the battle of Mohács follows. During the season there will be jumps in time.

What is the relationship between Kanuni and Pargali?

Okan: Mysterious. Sometimes cold, sometimes warm with conflicts. We'll see how one of Suleiman's favorite person, becomes a man driven to death.

What about allegations that between them there was a homosexual relationship?

Halit: You will not see this in the series. The reactions appeared before the series were in people's minds. They believed that it would show some things in a certain way. But they were all in their imagination.

What accounts for the Hurrem Suleiman and Ibrahim?

Halit: Part of the soul of Suleiman.

Okadan: The enemy of Ibrahim. Dynamic nature, the cause of many events. Act indirectly, perhaps because of the limitations that existed at the time.

Why Hurrem hates so much Ibrahim?

Okan: You can see like a clear struggle for power. From a very young age, Pargali is very close to Suleiman in life, in art, in army. For her is competitive.

Why Suleiman loves so much Hurrem?

Halit: Living in the palace and being a member of the families of the Sultan, this implies restrictions. Hurrem is liberal, carefree. This is the most delicious piece of Suleiman. She is his life.

Do men like this today?

Halit: No matter men or women. Everyone feels attracted to unusual people.

Hurrem Suleiman won by her inteligence? In your opinion, what do you consider most important, intelligence or beauty?

Halit: intelligence. This applies to everyone. There are people who talk nicely and people who talk badly.

What is the most difficult to be a Kanuni (Lawgiver)?

Halit: Because these events occurred many years ago, is hard to get to the brain of Suleiman. It requires a lot of work to understand a man who was governor of the world, won continents, which was rich, all around him were slaves. Can this be the impact of the series and I think that to understand this, I need to work more.

It sounds as if influenced by the role. You are a hard man?

Halit: No. Do not see me like Suleiman. Someone who does not know me, as you say, seem to him distant, but I am very approachable.

Eventually, is Suleiman womanizer?

Halit: In the series we have not shown this. Even though he has adapted his image in today. The man, whom they say it is a womanizer, he lives really at a time when other criteria apply. He was the Sultan, had privileges. We show this in a way that is acceptable to the public. Suleiman is not in every minute in bed. It is written in history, the harem was fun for him. But not only that. There are 13 years campaigning, government 46 years, 10 of them out of Istanbul and 36 in his home. What you like, a passionate love between Suleiman and Hurrem or a naive, innocent love between Ibrahim and Hatice?

Halit: Passionate and naive love. Would not it be nice to be combined both?

Halit: Both the same, but I guess they like the most Hurrem.

Do you get angry with Suleiman?

Halit: No, the Sultan not to blame. Indeed, Suleiman so far has done nothing wrong. It can not be accused of cheating against Mahintevran. This situation must be understood by the people. At that time, Mahidevran could not be jealous of Hurrem, neither Hurrem of Mahintevran. . These intrigues could be in the background. But the Sultan could not say.

If Suleiman lived in today, what person would be?

You have played in many projects. But what do you attribute that increase your fans with the role of Pargali Ibrahim?

Okan: The reasons vary greatly. The script, good cooperation with colleagues, excellent production. Pargali is a character that is interesting and excites curiosity. I try to play with love. Your love with Hatice has won many women. In life there is something so romantic?

Okan: Let's talk about the job. The relationship with Hatice is something important. Although he grew up in the palace, Hatice  can't be faced with the harshness of life in the palace.
